With the cool weather right around the corner, families all across the country will soon be having their family reunions. Aside from great food, lots of laughs and cold beverages, a family reunion isn’t complete without great music. Regardless if your family plans to hire a DJ or Aunt Rhonda is bumping tunes on her Bluetooth speaker, every fun party has to be accompanied by good music.

We here at Fun for Everyone, the go-to provider for party tent rentals in Bucks County, PA, hope these tunes can take your next family reunion to the next level. Without further ado, here are our five favorite songs that need to be played at your next family reunion.

#5 “Celebration” by Kool & The Gang from Celebrate! (1980) – One of the best songs to get the party started, “Celebration” by Kool & The Gang will have your toes tapping and head bobbing with a smile from ear to ear once this classic jam comes on.

“So bring your good times. And your laughter too. We gonna celebrate your party with you.”

#4 “Family Reunion” by The O’Jays from Family Reunion (1975) – A much slower song compared to No. 5 on our list, but the slow, smooth jazz hit by The O’Jays is a must-play at a family get-together. The name of the song is even titled, “Family Reunion”. We can’t make it much easier than that.

#3 “A Family Affair” by Sly & The Family Stone from There’s a Riot Goin’ On (1971) – Similar to “Family Reunion,” “A Family Affair” is a much slower song that doesn’t shy away from speaking about the negatives associated with family. Although not a song that is gonna put you in the greatest mood, “A Family Affair” still sends a great message for family gatherings.

#2 “Home” by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros from Up From Below (2010) – The only song on this list in the 21st century, “Home” by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros is a song that can get stuck in your head in a matter of seconds. Its care-free rhythm is contagious and will get people humming along as a family.

#1 “We Are Family” by Sister Sledge from We Are Family (1979) – We are sure that this song being No. 1 was not a surprise to anyone, “We Are Family” by Sister Sledge is the go-to family reunion song. The 1979 jam landed Sister Sledge in the Grammy Hall of Fame.
